The trucking industry in entering a brand new age. The development of autonomous trucks and hybrid trucks is just the beginning. In a few years, there will be many changes that will impact the way trucking companies operate. Keeping an eye on these new changes is important for any operation to succeed in the future. Evaluating the advantages or benefits being offered by new technology is very important.

Case in point is the air suspension truck. In the past, air suspension system on trucks were widely believed to be unsuitable for the driving conditions that trucks are exposed to. The technological limitations meant that no air suspension could be developed that was durable enough to handle the rigors that trucks are frequently exposed to. The development of stronger and lighter materials changed all this. Suddenly, air suspension has become a viable system for trucks. The trucks are just as capable as the older models when it comes to handling high loads. Performance was never in danger of being compromised. The air suspension trucks offered only improvements that benefitted fleet operators. The air suspension system was very good in absorbing the vibrations and shocks caused by road conditions. Important truck parts are protected against damaging forces. In effect, the serviceable life of trucks were increased. This also helped avoid mechanical failures that could have delayed the journeys. Truck drivers also benefited from these new suspension systems. The better shock absorption of the system improved the quality of ride, minimizing fatigue and improving focus during long rides.
